Project overview This is a documentary verbatim performance in three parts, highlighting the basic human desire to be — to be heard, understood, and accepted in one's vulnerability. “Verbatim” theatre is a documentary form in which real people’s words are collected through interviews or testimonies and then performed on stage without alteration. Part 1: Bar Characters reflect on their relationships—with partners, parents and themselves—exploring personal identity. Unique stories reveal a shared desire to find meaning, affirm choices and validate existence. Part 2: Porn Ordinary people discuss perspectives on sex and share personal stories. Close-up projections of the actors during monologues highlight vulnerability in intimacy and expose unrealistic societal and media-driven expectations. Part 3: Train Station Restless passengers stuck in endless transit, bored security guards and the homeless, who seem trapped in a liminal space. The train station becomes a timeless purgatory, symbolizing lostness and longing. Co-created with Diana Shapiro & Maria Savchenko & Natalia Smirnova |
